Today I will tell you more about “The iACT and LAND Centres Handbook ” –
A Guide to Creating your Sustainability or Regenerative Learning & Demonstration Centre & Activating Transformative Regional Networks.
The handbook was developed by the Permaculture Association, Permakultur Danmark, Centre for Ecological Learning Luxembourg,
Green School Village Bulgaria, Permaculture Association of Bulgaria, Laboratorio Sicilia 2030, Cloughjordan ecovillage,
and Centre for Ecology, evolution, and environmental changes.
It is authored by Steve Charter, PAB (Permaculture Association Britain), and IPEN (International Permaculture Education Network) with editing, reorganization, and proofreading by Eileen Branigan, Cloughjordan Ecovillage, and significant contributions and inspiration from all iACT partners.
The major objective of the Handbook is to support the establishment of an international network of demonstration training centers and interacting national systems. In this way, conditions for sustainable development and permaculture will be created in the long term.
The Handbook is intended to be a guide for the design, establishment, and management of training and demonstration centers.
It is divided into 5 main parts spread over almost 90 pages:
– Why, What, and How.
– Development and Sustainability of Centres – An Entrepreneurial Approach
– Criteria and objectives for a good center
– Global models
– Other important practices in the field
Its value comes from the opportunity to tap into the experience and knowledge of professionals from different countries, presenting a multicultural approach to creating sustainable communities and models.
The accessible language and methodological coherent guidelines provide an adaptable toolkit to serve centers at the local level responding to their characteristics and needs.
And soon it will be available in Bulgarian, thanks to our ongoing work with Green School Village Bulgaria.
