This past week I’ve been mostly going through the videos from the Estonian PDC. I’m watching through the footage and trying to select which parts could be used later on when creating a video about the whole course. It’s a bit as if I was there except for when they have some more practical or group activities which are personal and of course, couldn’t have been captured on video. But I am still listening to the lectures that have been going through the basics of permaculture so far. That’s a nice reminder for me as my PDC was back in 2022 and unfortunately for me, it isn’t easy to apply and keep to the permaculture principles in my city life daily. It is refreshing to go through them again.
Big parts of the video content are not very usable and I find myself often skipping through, but I am sure there’s a lot to be taken out of the footage in the end so I’m curious to see the end product in the future. So far I’ve covered the first several days of the project. This turned out to be a bit more time-consuming than expected and has been my main task this week. I have even resorted to watching the video sped up as my attention span is very limited these days. Feels like watching lectures from uni.
The other things I’ve been on this week are the materials translated by Maria and Misha that they asked me to review. I’ve done that more or less as a break/change-up activity from the PDV videos. Maria gave me access to our YouTube channel so that I could get into the subtitles that she created for one of the videos. It’s my first time working with the YouTube studio system and I needed some time to figure it out. In the end, it’s very easy to use and kind of pleasant to watch a video and edit subtitles along the way.
That’s it from me this week. I am planning something else for the following weeks that I’ll keep from you for now. I can tell you it involves someone new who we’ll be having an interesting chat with.
Wish you the best,
Alex
