First snow and creativity

Hello dear ones,

Last weekend we had the first snow in Bulgaria, and it brought a lot of joy and the Christmas Spirit in many hearts. Of course the change in temperature is followed with challenges for the immune system, that is why my lovely fellow volunteer Madlen is on a sick leave due to Coronavirus and will not be sharing this or the upcoming week.

For me, it was a week full of creativity. First, I started with making some changes on the cards that the volunteer from the previous project did on David Holmgren’s permaculture principles. As I mentioned before I already made a Bulgarian version of these cards, but some changes needed to be made in the original ones so the both versions can have the same look, such as fonts, size and logos.

Then I began working on my own project. I am making bilingual cards for both “the ethics of Permaculture” and “Bill Mollison’s permaculture principles”. This creation included me working with Bing AI image creator, which is super cool. You can get a picture, drawing, logo, painting of anything your mind can think of. If you write a good explanation of what you need, it will give you four versions of that thing. I was amazed by it, even though when AI started developing I was very skeptical, but now I find it super helpful, at least this version of it. I used it to make the logos (signs) and for the details that make the design of the cards more beautiful. This project was done on my new favorite program – Photoshop.

The cards underwent few changes, both for the logos and the text. Firstly I based both of these things only on what I read from Bill Mollison’s book, but then as advised from my coordinator, I got more informed by the subject, and I am very satisfied with the end result and I hope you will be too.

Love,

Marija
