Hello dear ones,
I am going to start my blog with the proudest moment of the week – the cards with the Permaculture principles by Bill Mollison that we made in this project, traveled all the way to Sicily and will be used in an amazing farm there. My project coordinator Mihaela went for a vacation there and visited her friend and colleague’s farm, whose name is Salvatore and the farm’s name is Saja. Mihaela shared about the wonders that they made with the farm. Below I am posting a link to the farm’s Facebook page in case you are traveling in Sicily and want to visit a beautiful example of permaculture farm, or you are looking for a volunteering place.

It made me really happy when I heard that the cards already started spreading in the permaculture community.
The working week for me continued with the reading of chapter four and five of Bill Mollison’s “Permaculture: a designer’s manual”. A big part of chapter 4 was dedicated to the usage of patterns in traditional cultures. This was very interesting for me, because I have an Anthropology and ethnology degree. How the intelligence and knowledge of a community is interwoven in the patterns of their art and culture is fascinating, and by learning this we can find a lot of useful information.
Chapter 5 is dedicated to the effect of climate factors in permaculture, which is one of the most important factors when making a permaculture design.
I hope you have a lovely weekend
Marija
