Hello all!
This week was a really exciting one. As Maria already told you in her blogpost we are now preparing for the festival “Hisarlaka experience” which will take place this weekend (12-14th of July) in a fortress with an amazing view in Kyustendil. Our organization will do a workshop on the topic of Permaculture so we printed and laminated some cards and games. My birthday is in 12th of July so unfortunately I won’t be able to join them but I am glad that I was able to help in the preparation. Although, for my birthday I will be in the rhodope village Dolen where we are planning of doing a workshop so my stay there would be a perfect opportunity to investigate the area and think about the ways we can help the village in the future.
Another interesting thing that happen was our visit to a village where there are plans for creating a LAND center in the future. We had a delicious lunch in a restaurant in Kyustendil where we were enjoying the shade in this hot day but also speaking about our future plans and the LAND project. After lunch we met with the new volunteer Alex. She will start volunteering in August and Misha did an predeparture meeting with her.
The day was amazing! I felt to grateful and blessed to be around such inspiring people with the same interests and passions as me. I am glad that there is a balance between my time in the big noisy city Sofia and the quiet villages where we meet local people, listen to their needs and think of practical ways of helping them in creating a more beautiful and empathetic world. I am still working on the translation of a handbook on the topic of LAND which we will be adapted in Bulgarian for a training in September. Thank you for reading and being part of my journey!
See you next week,
Polin
