Hello all!
This week was a really busy and interesting one! In Tuesday me, Maria and our supervisor Misha met with Varvara- a member of our organization. She is an ukrainian living in Bulgaria. The goal of the meeting was to speak about creating a Solidarity project in her place in Hisarya. She has a permaculture design which she wants to implement and to create a LAND center there. If you want to learn more about this project you can read Maria’s blog post.
Then in Thursday I met with a really inspiring woman called Katya Nikolova in my favorite tea house “Veda house”. Katya came to our meeting with a bicycle which inspired me to ride more often my bike. Katya is a member of our organization and part of the community urban bio gardens Vitosha in Sofia where a few years ago my supervisor was gardening there as well. This garden is one of the LAND center candidates. The goal of our meeting was to speak about the translation that I am doing of a handbook on the topic of LAND. We were discussing how hard it is to translate some of the terminology on the topic of climate change and that I should read some bulgarian blog writers who write on this topic in order to see the best translation of the most common words. My meeting with Katya was really inspiring for me because we were speaking about the urban garden she is gardening in and also about living in a village and creating your own small paradise through permaculture.
My week finished with a meeting with my supervisor where we were speaking about the LAND project, the training that we are organizing in September and how we can adapt LAND for Bulgaria. Maria is currently doing the badges for the certification of LAND and I am translating the handbook that we want to share with the LAND candidates in september. We were also discussing our new patreon profile that I created and I am currently working on. We want to reissue our children’s book “Friends in the garden” so the donations from this profile would be really helpful to make that dream come true.
Next week would be really exciting for me because I will be participating in a on-arrival training for ESC volunteers organized by the bulgarian national agency. I am excited about all the new and interesting people I am gonna meet. I can’t wait to hear their own stories and the projects they are working in. I am sure that we will have many things in common and I hope that we will keep in touch and maybe hang out or go to some trips together.
Thank you for reading my blog posts. Next week I will tell you about my on-arrival training.
See you soon!
